广州非洲人的“汇款”特征及其功能研究

摘　　要：通过深度访谈和参与观察的方法研究发现,在广州的非洲人主要通过邮寄商品而不是现金的方式给留守在非洲的家人,从而为改善家庭生计和当地的社会发展做出贡献。这种独特的汇款方式,不仅使得家庭从经济上获利,而且使其家庭成员习得经商的技能,其意义比常见的流动人口现金汇款给家庭和社区带来的影响更富社会和文化内涵,因而在实践层面上对构建中非关系发挥着重要作用。As a part of the South-South migration population, Africans went to Guangzhou since 1990s to carry out business and trade activities between China and Africa. Based on in-depth interviews and participatory observation, this paper finds that Africans in Guangzhou contribute to improving their family livelihoods and local social development through sending commodities rather than cash to their left-behind families in Africa. Such a unique way of remittance not only benefits their family economically, but also enables their family members to gain business skills. It brings more social and cultural significance to those left-behind families and communities in Africa than cash remittance usually conducted by migrant population does, therefore it plays an important role in establishing the China-Africa relationship at practical level.
