Objective Though exploration the method of partial or minor hepatectomy in mice, a simple, safe and effective method for liver injury was established to provide an ideal model for screening anti-liver injury drugs. Methods 4 anatomical functional units(middle, left outer leaves, right and tail leaves) of mice were identified, the left outer leaves and middle leaves of the liver were ligated and removed, and a model of 70 % hepatectomy mice was established. Results The left outer lobe and middle of the liver accounted for 68% of the total liver weight of the mice. The survival condition of the mice was good after 7 days, and the model of hepatectomy mice was established successfully. Conclusion In this study, the safety of partial hepatectomy and the practicability of subsequent experiments were discussed. Moreover, the model will be used to reveal the mechanism of liver injury and promote the development of related studies.
