摘　　要：美国作家威廉·福克纳对中国新时期小说的文化寻根产生了重要影响。福克纳的"约克纳帕塔法"世系小说作为一个开放的、意蕴丰富的文学世界,以别具一格的现代派文体实验形式所书写的美国南方故事展现了现代社会人类精神荒原的图景,表达了人类追寻"心灵真理"、重构人类精神价值的艺术理想。受其影响,中国新时期诸多作家也像福克纳一样,从各自的文学地理世界出发,表现了对历史、传统、现实、生命的普遍性思考和对理想人性的诉求,在借鉴的基础上又用想象拓展了文学地理空间。福克纳对美国南方文化的双重审视视角与中国新时期作家对乡土中国的辩证省思具有同构性。新时期作家在汲取西方现代派文学艺术手法的基础上进行了乡土中国的书写,形成了具有中国特色的乡土文学现代派,这与福克纳的影响有着密切的关系。William Faulkner, an American writer, has exerted important influence on the seeking of the cultural roots of Chinese literature in the new period , and his ** Yoknapatavvpha^^ genealogical novels, as an open and meaningful literary world, and with the American southern stories in the experimental form of a unique modernist style , have revealed a landscape of human spiritual desert in the modern society , and expressed the human pursuit of “ spiritual truth" and reconstructed the artistic ideal of the value of human spirit. Under his influence, lots of Chinese writers in the new period, just like Faulkner, starting from their respective literary and geographical worlds, have expressed their universal thoughts on history, tradition , reality and life, and their appeals for ideal humanity, and ex pa nded the literary geographical space with imagination on the basis of references. There exists homoorganicitv between Faulkner' s double perspectives on American southern culture and Chinese writers ' dialectical reflections on Chinese local culture in the new period. In the new period, Chinese writers, taking studying from the Western modernist literature and artistic techniques as the basis, have carried on the writing of Chinese local literature, thus forming a modernist school of local literature with Chinese characteristics, which is closely related to the influence of Faulkner.
