摘 要:Post-colonialist criticism can be traced in many works of the famous British female writer Doris Lessing."The Black Madonna"is one of them. This essay, through the analysis of metaphor, contrast and symbolism used in the novel, is an attempt to reveal its post-colonialist theme from the perspective of writing techniques. It also aims to lead people to ponder on the hidden theme of the novel—humanity.Post-colonialist criticism can be traced in many works of the famous British female writer Doris Lessing."The Black Madonna"is one of them.
