Intention: This article explores the effects of PHZ treatment on the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines in P.bANKA infected mice. Method: We established the malaria model of PHZ treatment in P.bANKA infected C57 BL/6 mice and measured the infection rate of erythrocyte; We prepared the suspension liquid of spleen cells on 0, 3 rd, 5 th day after infection and measured the changes of secretion level of TNF-α and IFN-γ by ELISA in spleen. Result: Compared with the mice infected with P.bANKA, the serum parasitemia was significantly increased and the survival durations were shorter in P.b+PHZ group mice; The level of TNF-α was significantly decreased on 3 rd and 5 th day;The level of IFN-γ was also decreased markedly on 3 th day. Conclusion: PHZ treatment significantly increased the level of parasitemia in P.bANKA early infected mice and the survival durations were shorter. It may be closely related to the derease of TNF-α and IFN-γ secreted anemic P.y17 XL early infected C57 BL/6 mice leads to the inability to effectively kill the plasmodium in erythrocyte stage. But the exact mechanism needs futher investigation.
