摘　　要：《变化的力量》是北爱尔兰剧作家加里·米切尔的名篇,《在血泊中》是美国非裔剧作家苏珊·洛莉·帕克斯的代表作。这两部戏剧有一个共同的命题,即反映女性人物在政治、历史和种族等层面的身份诉求。《变化的力量》中的白人女主人公卡洛琳和《在血泊中》的黑人女主人公海丝特都受到了经济、政治、社会和历史因素的影响,十分渴望获得个人身份和社会身份的认同。她们以不同方式改变个人身份以提高社会地位的种种尝试,昭示了女性身份问题的普遍性和复杂性。这势必引起人们对女性地位及其命运的充分关注,因而具有普遍的启示意义。The Force of Change is the masterpiece of Northern Ireland playwright Gary Mitchell.In the Blood is the masterpiece of African American playwright Suzan-Lori Parks.The two dramas share a common proposition that reflects the identity of female characters at the political,historical and racial levels. Caroline is the white heroine in The Force of Change and Hester is the black heroine in In the Blood,who are all influenced by economic, political,social and historical factors. They are eager to acquire personal and social identity and try to change personal status in different ways to improve social status. It shows the universality and complexity of the problem of woman’s identity. This is bound to arouse people’s full attention to woman’s status and destiny. Therefore,it has universal enlightenment significance.
