Objective: To evaluate the value of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in evaluating nerve injury in patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM).Methods: 48 patients with early CSM in our hospital from January2012 to March2015 were selected as the experimental group and 48 healthy people as the control group. Both groups were examined by MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and DTI.The values of FA (cervical spinal cord anisotropy) and ADC (manifestation diffusion coefficient) at intervertebral disc level were compared between the two groups.Reconstruction and analysis. Results: The FA values of C3/4,C4/5 and C5/6 segments in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the ADC values were higher than those in the control group. There was significant statistical significance between the two groups (P < 0.05).Conclusion: Compared with conventional MRI,DTI provides noninvasive quantitative assessment of the cervical spinal cord and pathophysiological changes by means of water molecular diffusion for early diagnosis and differential diagnosis of cervical spinal cord lesions.
