摘　　要：本文通过统计国内外100种语言的音位及其功能来探讨语音的演变,认为音位的分布、出现频率与音位的功能一致,音位的分布越广、出现频率越高,其功能越强,发生变化和演变的可能性越低。在语音的演变中,一般来说是较低功能的语音倾向于向较高功能的语音发展。This paper aims to explore sound change through the statistic data of the phonemes and their functions of 100 languages in and outside of China.It argues that the distribution and frequency of phonemes are consistent with the functions of phonemes,that is,the more the number of languages and the higher the frequency the phonemes occur in,the stronger their functions are;hence,the least possible that such phonemes are prone to variation and change.Generally,in sound change,the phonemes with weaker functions tend to evolve toward those with stronger functions.
