摘 要:诗歌是高度凝练的语言艺术,但不只限于文字和声音的呈现,视觉美学所产生的图像画面能更好地解码诗歌中的隐藏线索。艾米莉·狄金森是视觉诗学的标志性人物,诗人策略性地将诗歌中的点、线、面糅合在一起,交织成显性的视觉图画,这既源于她个人独有的审美情感,对生活细致入微的观察和大胆自由的想象力,又扎根于家庭背景、隐居经历和当时社会环境的土壤。大量使用的色彩词汇,由首字母大写、破折号和感叹号所构成的流畅线条,加之精心设计的巧妙排版,反映出狄金森复杂的宗教悖论,对美国南北战争的积极态度,以及认为“死亡即永恒”的独特见解,体现了狄金森跨越文字和音韵局限进行诗歌创作的先进性与独创性。Poetry is a highly concise art of language, but is not confined to word and sound. Images generated by visual aesthetics can better decode poetry’s hidden clues. Emily Dickinson, as an iconic figure of visual poetry, strategically mixes her poems’ point, line and plane together to show overt visual pictures, which is attributed to her unique aesthetic emotion, careful observation of life, bold and free imagination, and rooted in the deep influence of her family background, experience of solitude and social environment.Dickinson uses numerous color items, creates smooth lines by capital letters, dashes and exclamation marks, designs sophisticated typography, which not only reflects her complex religious paradox, affirmative attitude towards the American Civil War, and peculiar idea of “death equals eternity”, but also embodies her advancement and ingenuity of poetic creation by breaking limitations of word and sound.
