Objective: To compare the diagnostic value of magnetic sensitive imaging (SWI) and multi?slice spiral CT (MSCT) in cerebral microbleeds. Methods: The SWI and MSCT images of 36 patients with cerebral microbleeds were retrospectively analyzed. The number of CMB foci in the cortex, subcortical white matter area, basal ganglia, thalamus area, brainstem, cerebellum and other parts was detected by above mentioned two methods. The difference of the total number of CMB lesions detected by the two methods was compared, and differences in the number of CMB lesions at different brain sites were analyzed. Results: There were significant differences in the total number of CMB lesions detected by SWI and MSCT, and the number of CMB lesions detected in different brain regions were also statistically different (P<0.01). The detection rate of CWB lesions by SWI sequence was significantly higher than that of MSCT. Conclusion: Compared with MSCT, SWI sequences are more sensitive to the detection of CMB lesions, and the detection rate is relatively higher.
