摘　　要：馆藏建设是图书馆发展的根基,文献选择则是其中最基本的一项工作。美国高校图书馆文献选择角色两次比较明显的更迭,具有历史必然性与现实适应性的特点:第一次始于20世纪五六十年代,以教师为主导的文献选择转移到以图书馆为主导的文献选择;第二次始于20世纪90年代末、21世纪初,以图书馆为主导的文献选择转移到读者驱动的文献选择,馆藏资源、人员、制度、经费、技术、管理等因素是其推动力量。目前,我国高校图书馆还没有形成适应读者决策采购成功实践的大环境,需要从本土适应性的角度深入探讨切实可行的措施。Collection construction is the foundation of library development, and book selection is the basic task of that. The role and responsibility of book selection in American academic libraries have two distinct changes, and have characteristics of historical inevitability and local adaptability. The first change began in the 1950s or 1960s, faculty-dominated book selection transferred to library-dominated book selection;the second one began in the late 1990s and early 2000s, library-dominated book selection transferred to patron-driven acquisition.The changes are driven by collections, personnel, system, fund, technology and management. Domestic academic libraries have not formed the environment of patron-driven acquisition, and it is necessary to explore practical measures from the perspective of local adaptability.
