摘 要:随着网络技术和信息产业的飞速发展,在专用硬件设备带来的成本、运营和维护等方面的挑战下,网络功能虚拟化(NFV)应运而生,受到了广泛关注。NFV在通用服务器上采用虚拟化技术以软件形式实现各种网络功能以取代专有硬件设备,从而实现软件和硬件之间的解耦。由于通用服务器存在较高的网络I/O性能开销,其网络转发性能成为了制约NFV发展的重要因素。本文首先介绍了NFV的概念和架构,然后分析了NFV中影响网络I/O性能的关键因素,并介绍和对比了现有的几种网络I/O加速技术的实现原理及优缺点,最后总结了这些网络I/O加速技术对NFV的发展带来的机遇和影响。With the rapid development of network technology and information industry,Network Function Virtualization ( NFV) was proposed and has drawn significant attention under the challenge of cost,operation and maintenance brought by proprietary hardware devices. By leveraging virtualization technologies and general - purpose servers instead of proprietary hardware appliances,NFV decou- ples the software implementation of network functions from the underlying hardware. Due to the high network I/O overhead of the gener- al - purpose servers,its network forwarding performance has become an important factor restricting the development of NFV. First of all,we introduce the concept and architecture of NFV. Then we analyze the key factors affecting network I/O performance. We also in- troduce and compare several network I/O acceleration technologies. Finally we summary the impacts of these technologies on the devel- opment of NFV.
