摘　　要：作为一名历史学家和基督徒,马丁·怀特拥有复杂的历史观。就历史编纂方法而言,体现为整体视角和比较方法;就历史认识论而言,呈现为一种非决定论的循环史观。怀特的宗教信仰,铸就了其循环史观悲观主义和否定进步主义的底色。现实主义、理性主义和革命主义,构成了怀特国际理论的主要内容。尽管怀特的历史观和国际理论相辅相成、彼此促进,但本质上却是历史观决定了国际理论的特征。怀特的历史观决定了其国际思想异常复杂且欠缺理论化,但其思想的开放性取向却具有了跨学科的深远影响。As a historian and a Christian,Martin Wight’s viewof history is complicated.As far as the method of historiography is concerned,what Wight efficiently used were the holistic perspective and the comparative method.For the epistemology of history,he held a recurrent viewof history that is not deterministic.Being a pious Christian,his recurrent viewof history was blended with pessimism and anti-progressivism.Realism,rationalism and revolutionism constitute the main contents of Wight’s international theory.Although Wight’s viewof history and his international theorywere inseparable and mutually promoted,this was yet a fact that the former had essentially determined the latter.For this reason,there were imperfections in his theory such as the complexities of international theory and the lacking of theorization,but his openness of his thought had given a far-reaching effect on interdisciplinary studies.
