摘　　要：董守义作为我国著名的体育教育家和社会活动家,其体育思想根源于教会学校和基督教青年会对西方近代体育的传播,自然主义体育思想对其思想形成有深刻影响,体育教学经历是其思想形成的实践基础。董守义体育思想的内涵包括:以“促进身心健康,塑造健全人格”为理念的体育教育观;以“谨守体育道德,彰显公平竞争”为核心的体育竞技观;以“竞技体育为普及体育之手段”为宗旨的全民体育观;以“投身体育运动,献身体育事业”为追求的体育实践观。历史贡献主要有:促进了中国早期篮球运动的传播与发展;积极投身社会体育工作,培养各类体育人才;为建立中国体育理论起到了奠基作用;为新中国奥林匹克运动的发展作出了杰出贡献。董守义体育思想不仅具有重要的学术研究价值,而且对当下我国体育事业的发展也有着积极的实践指导和借鉴意义。Dong Shouyi is a famous sports educator and social activist in China.The root of the formation of his physical education thought is the spread of the church school and the YMCA of the Western modern sports,the naturalist sports thought has the profound influence on his thought formation,and the physical education teaching experience is the practice foundation of his thought formation.The connotation of Dong Shouyi's physical Education thought includes “promoting physical and mental health,shaping sound personality”as the concept of physical education,observing sports morality,showing fair competition as the core of the concept of sports competition,“competitive sports for the popularization of sports means”for the purpose of the national sports concept,“joining sports,devotingoneself to the cause of sports”as the pursuit of the concept of sports practice.His main contributions are to promote the spread and development of early basketball in China,actively participate in social sports work and training all kinds of sports talents,to establish a groundbreaking role for the establishment of Chinese sports theory,and to make outstanding great contributions to the development of the Olympic movement in new China.Dong Shouyi's thought of physical education not only has important academic research value,but also has positive practical guidance and reference significance to the development of sports undertakings in our country at present.
