摘　　要：China hosted the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 from August 31 to September 15, the first tim e it was held in an Asian country. A record number o f 32 teams played the matches across eight cities— Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen. Foshan and Dongguan. An im p o rta n t feature o f the tournam ent was that it sent seven winning team s directly to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. On September 8, China lost to Nigeria 73-86, failing to automatically qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
