摘  要:北京是林语堂文学的起点。北京时期的林语堂融入新文化运动并成为新文化运动的坚定支持者,与胡适、鲁迅、周作人、陈独秀、辜鸿铭等新文学干将们的影响密不可分。正是在他们的综合影响下,加之自己独特性情及特殊教育背景的规约,铸就了林语堂相当而特别的“京派”因缘。京海合流中的林语堂则有了明显的海派意味,但与以同情和欣赏的眼光将都市生活、都市情感作为中心表现的海派毕竟又存有着距离。在复杂的工商与政治语境里,他以拟市民的口吻发为讽刺的诙谐,苦乐自尝,不求人理会,人亦未必理会。不过,上海林语堂的文学活动却直接促进了海派都市散文的兴起。它们共同创造和发展了那种以“日常生活”为本位的“轻”文学文体。这种文体消解了“战斗”的锋芒与“崇高”的品格,却也丰富了现代散文的种类,典型体现了中国现代都市散文的早期形态。Beijing was the starting place of the literary career of Lin Yutang,who became a staunch supporter of the New Culture Movement in Beijing under the influence of Hu Shi,Lu Xun,Zhou Zuoren,Chen Duxiu and Gu Hongming.However,Lin Yutang in Shanghai took on an obvious Shanghai feature,which is different from the pure Shanghai Style that focuses on urban life and emotions with sympathy and appreciation.In the complex context of industry,commerce and politics,he satirizes with the tone of a citizen,with both bitterness and joy.Lin Yutang's literary activities in Shanghai directly promoted the rise of Shanghai urban prose.They jointly created and developed the light literary style based on daily life.It not only dispelled the sharp edge of"battles"and lofty characters,but also enriched the types of modern prose,which typically reflects the early form of modern urban prose in China.
