A variety of changes have taken place in Japanese politics since the country entered the "Reiwa" era at May 1st 2019.In this key time, the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management, known as the cradle for young Japanese politicians, celebrated its 40th anniversary .The Matsushita Institute enjoyed its golden age in the early 21st century when its graduates served as prime minister, cabinet members and congressmen in Japanese government. However, after the fall from power of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), the prestige of Matsushita institute cannot compare to its former peak. Could the Matsushita Institute reinvent itself through transformations under current situation. Furthermore, how could graduates from Matsushita Institute achieve their dreams and have a strong impact on Japanese politics while the Institute experiences a drop in its prestige.Urged by these questions, I have made a systemic analysis on the status quo and prospect of the Matsushita Institute and tried to summarize the status and influence of the Matsushita Institute to contemporary Japanese politics.
