摘　　要：砖块的使用在佛兰德斯的建筑文化中拥有悠久的传统。由于该地区缺乏天然石材,但是却拥有大量各种各样的黏土,因此从12世纪开始,当地的条件激发了人们使用砖来建造建筑的想法。到了 19世纪,由于人口增长和对更高生活水平的需求,当地建筑文化中对砖块的使用迅速增加了。直到19世纪末,许多哥特复兴风格的公共建筑都是用砖建造而成的。Brick has a long tradition in the building culture of Flanders. The lack of natural stones in the region, and a great presenee of diverse sorts of clay, stimulated the use of brick construction starting in the 12th century. The use of bricks in local building culture rapidly increased in the 1800s, due to population growth and higher living standards.
