摘　　要：《现代汉语词典》“试印本”1960年问世,到2020年即将六十年。“试印本”为《现代汉语词典》奠定了学术根基,1978年正式出版后,四十余年来不断修订,连续出版了七个版本,表现出与时俱进的精神。这种精神,体现在收词、释义、标注、引例等各方面取得的令人瞩目的成就上。《现代汉语词典》对学术发展影响深远,不仅满足了汉语辞书学的需要,推动了普通词典学的发展,对汉语词汇学等学科的进一步前行也起到了巨大的助推作用。《现代汉语词典》是应时代和学术发展需求而生的,中国作为辞书贫国、弱国、小国的历史,因《现代汉语词典》的出版得以终结。By 2020, the Modern Chinese Dictionary (MCD) will have been published for sixty years. When it first came out, MCD represented the highest achievement of Chinese lexicography at that time. Since then it has set a trend for generations to come. It has consciously followed and guided the national norms regarding language and writing system, and finally has become the norms per se. The 1960 “trial print” version laid the academic foundation for the final version of MCD. Since its official publication in 1978, seven revisions have been made in successions over the period of about 40 years, which itself exemplifies the very spirit of advancement with the times. MCD has made considerable achievements by the unceasing efforts such as selection of entries, interpretation of words, and the provision of notes, examples and references. The publication of MCD has greatly contributed to the compilation of other dictionaries and the development of Chinese lexicography as a whole. MCD was compiled in response to the needs of the times and academic development, and its publication marks itself as an epoch-making event in the history of Chinese dictionary compilation.
