摘　　要：作为 2 0世纪美国最杰出的小说家之一 ,福克纳着力塑造了一批受清教主义影响的南方女性。她们生活极不幸福 ,人性受压抑、扭曲 ,是清教主义制造的女性贞洁神话牺牲品。福氏通过小说大胆地向女性贞洁神话挑战 ,向传统的道德挑战 。As one of the most outstanding American novelists of the 20th century, William Faulkener took great pains to portray a group of southern women who were influenced by Puritanism. Their lives were extremely unhappy, their dispositions were suppressed and distorted and they were victims of the mythology of feminine chastity fabricated by Puritanism. Faulkener boldly challenged the myths of feminine chastity and conventional morality and expressed his beautiful wishes in his novels.
