摘　　要：数据库技术一直是计算机软件开发的重要话题 ,本文将现代的数据库技术与传统的工程勘察相结合 ,搜集和整理了天津港在开发和建设中积累的大量工程地质勘察资料 ,开发研制了“天津港工程地质数据管理系统”,阐述了这一系统开发与建立的必要性及其在港口工程地基勘察与基础设计中的重要作用。论述了该系统的指导思想、设计特点 。The technique of establishing database has been developing rapidly in recent years This technique has been introduced into a traditional field of soil investigation The necessity and importance of establishing the Soil Investigation Management System of Tianjin Harbor is discussed With the rapid developing of the Tianjin Harbor, more and more geotechnical investigation data was accumulated It is difficult to collect such information in the conventional manner from the piling up of thousands of documents Therefore, to develop a computerized database for managing and analyzing data is an urgent task A database system is developed basing on lots of soil investigating data which have been accumulated for many years The principle and methodology of construction of the management system have been put forward and the configurations and functions of the established system are expounded
