摘　　要：本文分4个方面论述了贝尔的光通信研究和发展的历程,这包括光通信的基础和应用研究,如激光器和玻璃光纤,以及光通信系统的开发和网络的建设,最后对贝尔的经验加以简要的评述,以说明大力促进电信发展的意义。The paper expounds,the course pf BL's optical communication in fouraspects. It includes the basic and applied research of optical communication(such as, laser, glass fiber), the exploitation of optical communication systemand the building of network. In the end, the paper briefly evaluates BL'sexperience and presents the importence of promoting communication facilities.
