摘　　要：安妮·普鲁的小说《船讯》是一部典型的成长小说,讲述了主人公奎尔从困惑到重生的故事。到纽芬兰前,奎尔是个彻头彻尾的失败者,包括事业、爱情、人际关系等各个方面,到纽芬兰后,他开始了重生的历程。文章通过分析奎尔困惑的深层原因和影响奎尔重生的条件及表现,从而得出奎尔成长过程中认识自身价值,感受自尊、荣誉和尊严,树立积极目标的重要性。The Shipping News of Annie Proulx is a typical initiation story,which tells the story of the protagonist,Quoyle,from perplexity to rebirth.Before the age of 36,Quoyle is a total loser in career,love,interpersonal and other aspects.By analyzing the deep causes and influences of Quoyle’s perplexity,the conditions and manifestations of Quoyle's rebirth,this paper summarizes the importance of understanding his own value,feeling,self-esteem,honor,dignity,and establishing positive goals in Quoyle's initiation process.
