摘　　要：本文运用弗洛伊德的焦虑理论解读美国当代小说家约翰·契弗长篇小说《猎鹰者监狱》中的主人公法拉格特。分析法拉格特的三元人格以及由人格内部冲突引起的自我焦虑和相应的防御机制,揭示主人公复杂的心理活动及其痛苦的人生遭遇,有助于更好地理解其从孤单迈向狂欢的蜕变之旅。This paper uses Freudian“Anxiety”Theory to analyze the protagonist Farragut of John Cheever's 4th novel Falconer.Based on the detailed analysis of Farragut's tripartite personality and the conflicts caused within it,his anxiety and corresponding defense mechanisms are demonstrated and illustrated respectively.The paper tries to explain how Farragut could achieve his jubilation from isolation by revolving around his painful experience as well as the complicated mental state.
