摘　　要："华亭"是上海地区第一个相对独立的县建置,前后延续1160年,其意义非同一般。华亭是上海的母体,也是上海最重要的古称之一。但华亭名称到底始于何时?当初为何将县取名华亭?设县前的华亭是怎样的?存不存在华亭港口?华亭县到底是从哪里划出来的?诸如此类的问题很有探究的必要,对研究松江以及上海地区的早期历史非常重要。" Huating" was the first relatively independent county establishment in Shanghai,which lasted for 1160 years,and thus is of extraordinary significance. Huating is the predecessor of Shanghai and one of the most important ancient names of Shanghai. But what is the origin of the name Huating? Why was the county given the name of Huating in the first place? What was Huating like before it became a county? Was there a Huating Port too? From which place was Huating County separated from? These questions not only deserve research,but also are essential for the study of the early history of Songjiang and Shanghai.
