《白马论》“Mass Nouns”解释探析

摘　　要：陈汉生认为英文中“Mass Nouns”与古代汉语中词汇的语法结构更为相似,因此也更适宜用来解释公孙龙的《白马论》。葛瑞汉认为这一解释虽然存在很多问题,但仍然是一个重要突破。何莫邪则认为陈汉生的这一解释难以成立。随后,陈汉生对《白马论》的翻译解释提出了宽容与人性两个原则来补充这一解释,并提醒要谨慎使用宽容原则。但成中英认为,相比较而言陈汉生提出的人性原则才更应该引起大家的注意。Chad Hansen believes that the grammatical structure of“Mass Nouns”in English is more similar to the grammatical structure of vocabulary in ancient Chinese,so it is more suitable to explain Gongsun Long’s White Horse Theory.Graham believes that although there are many problems in this interpretation,it is still an important breakthrough.Christoph Harbsmeier thinks that Chad Hansen’s explanation is hard to hold.Subsequently,Chad Hansen proposes the principles of charity and humanity to supplement the translation and interpretation of White Horse Theory,and reminds the use the principle of charity.However,Chung-Ying Cheng believes that the principle of humanity proposed by Chad Hansen should be paid more attention.
