摘　　要：本长篇论文是日本著名人类学家、藏学家中根千枝于1954年12月至1955年5月间,近半年时间对锡金及其周边的复合社会以社会人类学的方法进行研究的成果。此研究主要以田野调查的方式,其内容以"喜马拉雅山中的复合社会"为题而分成两部分写就。第一部分为本论文的主要内容,即"锡金的复合社会",第二部分以锡金和不丹相接处的复合社会为主题。前者为(绒巴族、菩提亚族~①、尼泊尔人)三个不同的族群组成的复合社会,而后者则为绒巴族和尼泊尔人(不包括菩提亚人)的复合社会。此两种形式的复合社会在其性质,接触等方面存在相当大的差异。本文主要阐述锡金的复合社会的形成,融合或与其相关的一些问题。The paper is part of the research done by Nakane Chie,the famous Japanese anthropologist and Tibetologist from December 1954 to May1955,who spent around half a year in studying Sikkim and its surrounding compound societies through the method of social anthropology.In the way of field investigation,the research is entitled as Plural Society in the Himalayas and is divided into two parts.Part One is the main content Compound Society of Sikkim;Part Two is entitled as Clural Society Where Sikkim and Bhutan Border.The former one is the compound society composed of three different ethnic groups(Rongpa,Bhutias,Nepalese),while the latter one is the compound society composed of Rongpa and Nepalese(excluding Bhutias).The compound societies of two forms vary a lot in terms of the nature and contact.Thispaper mainly expounds that the Sikkim’s compound society formation,fusion and other related issues.
