摘　　要：学术界对后现代主义小说的评价中,“不确定性”特征是否定派对其进行攻击的焦点之一。事实上,文本结构和故事叙事策略是作品的外部表现形式,思想内涵(即内容)则是作品的灵魂,两者只有达成统一,作品才能取得成功,而以美国当代小说为代表的欧美后现代主义小说文本恰恰体现出这种机制。约瑟夫 海勒的《第二十二条军规》和冯内古特的《五号屠场》两部黑色幽默和反讽小说是对后现代主义小说创作形式与内容关系的最好注解:其小说的文本结构和叙事策略表现出后现代主义作家的文艺美学价值追求;而在其看似轻松、滑稽、悖论式话语、碎片加拼接、非线性叙事等书写方式构成的故事表层结构之下却清晰地表达出作家的创作思想倾向,体现出后现代主义小说的政治美学价值。As one of the characteristics of postmodern literature,indeterminacy is one of the focal points of the attacks of negative critics against postmodern novels.In fact,both the text structure and narrative strategy are the external forms of a literary work,while the ideological connotation,that is the content,is the soul of a literary work.Only when the two are combined can a literary work succeed.American contemporary novels that exemplify Western postmodern novels precisely reflect such a mechanism.Catch-22 and Slaughterhouse-Five,two novels of black humor and satire by written by Joseph Heller and Kurt Vonnegut,respectively,provide the best annotations to the relationship between form and content as embodied in postmodern novels.Their text structure and narrative strategy show us the artistic aesthetic value that postmodernist writers pursue.They also reveal that there clearly exist the writers’tendency of thought beneath the text's surface structure,which is formed with seemingly relaxed and humorous ways,paradox-style language,fragment coupled with splicing and other writing techniques,thus creating political aesthetic value.Therefore,it is helpful for us to gain a better understanding of indeterminacy,one of the typical characteristics of postmodern literary works,by studying the relationship between form and content in postmodern American novels.This will help us make a fair judgment of their value.
