摘　　要：刘家和先生出入经史,在中西史学比较的视野下提出,中国经史之学的根本特征体现于与欧洲古代不同之历史理性取向,中国史学具有独特而持续的通史精神,并曾推出世界上第一部真正意义上的通史,中国史学求真致用之说蕴意深远。这些看法相互关联,将相关思考引入哲学与比较文化层面,从而使得中国史学根本特征及中西史学异同昭然若揭。先生融会经史、通贯古今、纵横中西,其学术气象及一系列学术主张,足以对今日史学史及史学理论研究构成诸多启发。Based upon his remarkable studies in Chinese classics and world history,Professor Liu Jiahe made three important points in terms of Chinese and Western historiography comparison.First of all,the fundamental characteristic of Chinese classic and history can be seen in its orientation towards historical rationality.Secondly,traditional Chinese historiography contributed consistent and unique spirit of general history,as well as the very first general history in full sense.Thirdly,seeking truth and serving society have been the basic principles of history as a scholarship.These mutually connected points led our thinking about the Chinese historiography to a level of philosophy and comparative culture,and revealed the real characteristics of Chinese historiography.Professor Liu Jiahe specializes in both Chinese classics and history,has a perspective from ancient through modern times,covers both Chinese and Western learnings.His scholarship and a series of points of view may inspire contemporary scholars significantly.
