低功耗低相位噪声的互补型电流复用Colpitts VCO设计

摘  要:在本文中,提出了一种基于变压器的电流复用Colpitts压控振荡器(VC0),电路在互补型形式下,采用变压器,将N型Colpitts振荡器和P型Colpitts振荡器联合,为电路提供差分输出。该VC0由于采用了低噪声Colpitts振荡器结构和负跨导增强技术,因而实现了较低的相位噪声,并且由于电流复用技术的采用,所消耗的直流功耗降低了一半。基于0.13 pm CMOS工艺对VC0进行流片实现,芯片面积为0.53 mm×0.56 mm。芯片实测结果表明:该VC0的振荡频率为7.34~8.94 GHz,在8.2 GHz振荡频率下,取得了-115.3 dBc/Hz@l MHz的相位噪声。在1.2 V电压供电下,仅消耗了2.5 mW的功耗。将调谐范围计算在内的品质因数F0M为-195.4 dBc/Hz。In this paper,a transformer-based current-reuse Colpitts voltage controlled oscillator(VCO)is proposed,which combines a N-type and P-type Colpitts oscillators using a transformer in a complementary form to provide the differential outputs.The proposed VCO has low phase noise due to the low noise Colpitts oscillator topology and the negative-transconductance boosting technique with half of the DC-current consumption using the current-reusing method.The VCO is implemented using 0.13 jxm CMOS process with chip area of 0.53 mm ×O.56 mm.The chip measured results show that the proposed VCO has the oscillation frequency from 7.34 to 8.94 GHz,and shows low phase noise of-115.3 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset frequency at 8.2 GHz.The power consumption is 2.5 mW from 1.2 V supply voltage.The figure of merit with tuning range(FOM)is-195.4 dBc/Hz.
