摘　　要：从"童"的字形入手,全面梳理其读音和意义,认为:"童"在字形上,甲骨文像一刑具刺目之形,本义为僮仆;在读音上,共有九种不同的读音;在意义上,一系列引申义皆由本义"僮仆"、核心义"表面无所生之物"产生出来。通过对"童"字的分析,丰富了人们已有的认识,并使之更加全面。The pattern in inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty likes an punishment implement stabbing into one’s eyes. Its original meaning was boy servant. It has 9 pronunciations. Its extended meanings are produced by the original meaning of " boy servant"and the core meaning of "nothing on the surface".
