摘　　要：As an excellent writer in American ethnic literature,Alice Walker devoted full attention to African Americans and their culture.One of her famous stories Everyday Use is a good point,which is worth studying.From the house,the quilt to the name,Al-ice Walker employed various symbols to show the theme of cultural heritage and identity.It is of significance to analyze and ex-plore the use of symbolism in the text so as to deepen the understanding of the theme.As an excellent writer in American ethnic literature, Alice Walker devoted full attention to African Americans and theirculture.
