“丛书时代”语境下的研究系与共学社

摘　　要：研究系梁启超等人欧游回国之后,为了输入西方的学术思想与知识系统,并将新文化运动引向深入发展,创设了共学社作为译介组织机构;与此同时,在梁启超、张元济等人的运作下,处于营业危机、高层斗争漩涡中的商务印书馆积极与研究系共学社和北京大学胡适等人达成共识,通过编译丛书的方式系统地、全面地积极引介西方思潮和知识体系,力图纠正五四新文化运动初期在“报纸杂志时代”形成的肤浅、碎屑的译介弊端,最终形成以商务印书馆为中心,以北京大学和研究系主导的丛书译介事业为核心的一种崭新的知识生产体系。它在开创新旧知识分子与现代出版业新型合作关系的同时,也将五四新文化运动由前期的“报纸杂志时代”推进到了后期的“丛书时代”。而“丛书时代”的到来,则真正标志着现代中国与世界思潮和知识系统接轨了。After Liang Qichao and other members of the Research Clique returned to China from Europe,in order to introduce western academic thought and knowledge systems and develop the new cultural move-ment further,they founded Kyogakusha as a translation agency.Meanwhile,the Commercial Press,which was operated by Liang Qichao,Zhao Yuanji and etc,although caught in a business crisis and a struggle among the top management,actively reached agreement with Kyogakusha and Hu Shi from Pe-king University.They systematically and comprehensively introduced western thought and knowledge systems by compiling series of books in an attempt to rectify the superficial and fragmented translation completed in the time of newspapers and magazines in the early days of the May Fourth New Culture Movement,finally establishing a brand-new knowledge production system with the Commercial Press as the center and the translation of series of books under the leadership of Peking University and the Re-search Clique as the core.The knowledge production system,while opening up a new type of coopera-tion between intellectuals,both old and new,and the modern publishing industry,also promoted the May Fourth New Culture Movement from the early“time of newspapers and magazines”to the late“time of series of books”.The arrival of the“time of series of books”really marks the convergence of modern China with the world’s ideological trends and knowledge systems.
