摘　　要：美国大都市公共图书馆是居民身边的文化商场,其阅读环境温馨舒适,催人读书。大都市图书馆的阅读区域闹中取静,分馆体系非常完善,且置有儿童专属阅览室。大都市公共图书馆还是民众的第二起居室。Metropolitan libraries in the United States are the cultural malls around the residents,and the reading areas are bright with reasonable facilities where everyone wants to read when they pass.There is developed branch library system to provide ubiquitous learning spaces for academic students.The library service pays more attention to readers demand in detail and provides more personalized service.Librarians own high social status and are researchers in libraries.
