Objective To investigate the features and clinical value of MRI in the diagnosis of infrapatellar fat pad(IFP)injury. Methods In this retrospective analysis,we included 111 patients diagnosed with IFP injury who were admitted to our hospital between April 2018 and April 2019.Then,we summarized the features of MRI together with the grade evaluation. Results Among the 111 cases,57 showed IFP injury in left knee,39 showed IFP injury in right knee(including 15 with injury in both knees). The injury grading was performed based on the IFP signals, cleft and profile of the 126 knees, including the mild in 54 cases,(42.9%),the moderate in 43(34.1%),and the severe in 29(23.0%).Treatment was given based on the IFP injury. The patients were followed up for at least 4~8 weeks after treatment. There were significant differences in the VAS score of the knee joints after treatment compared with the baseline levels(P<0.05).Conclusion MRI contributes to the evaluation of IFP injury position and severity, which can provide helpful information for the clinical treatment.
