摘　　要：This paper uses the critical method of psychoanalysis to explore the relationship between Hawthorne's subconscious world and the description of the"forest"environment,devil gathering,Brown's personality structure and the formation of the protagonist's final fate in Young Goodman Brown,and it draws the conclusion that the work is the sublimation of Hawthorne's suppressed unconscious desire.It is because Hawthorne's contradictory attitude towards Puritanism in real life that led him to incorporate his subconscious perception of Puritanism into the construction of the novel.
