Objective To analyze the logistics-related factors in the risk of slipping and falling events in elderly outpatients in public areas of the hospital, formulate relevant measures in a timely manner, and implement effective interventions to reduce the probability of slipping and falling events in elderly outpatients by establishing quality control circles(QCC) group, and provide a basis for QCC quality continuous improvement application research. Methods A retrospective analysis of elderly outpatients’ slipping and falling events in the public area of our Hospital from January to December 2017 was performed. The highrisk areas where the slipping and falling events occurred were analyzed from logistics management, hardware facilities, environmental settings, and the patient’s own situation. From January to December 2018, the anti-slipping and falling interventions were implemented. The incidences of the slipping and falling in elderly outpatients in public areas were compared before and after the implementation of QCC activities. Results After the implementation of the QCC, the incidence of the slipping and falling in elderly outpatients in the public areas of the hospital decreased significantly from 0.0063‰ in 2017 to 0.0018‰ in 2018( 2=8.488,P<0.01). Conclusions QCC activities could reduce the occurrence of the slipping and falling events in elderly outpatients in the public areas of the hospital, and promote the standardization and refinement of logistics support and management.
