Objective This study was designed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of CO2 laser technology in the treatment of atrophic acne scars. Methods This study included 140 patients with atrophic acne scars who were treated in our dermatology clinic from June 2014 to June 2018.All patients received 3 cycles of CO2 laser technology, with each treatment interval of 3 months.Follow-up observations were performed 1 week after each treatment, and 1,3,and 6 months after the last treatment. The degree of improvement was assessed by three independent dermatologists based on photographs before the fi rst treatment and 6 months after the last treatment, and the adverse effects of the treatment were recorded. At the last follow-up,the patient also self-assessed satisfaction. Results A total of 136 patients completed the entire study. After 3 treatments, all patients had signifi cant improvement in spots, enlarged pores, lines,UV damage, and erythema. All patients self-evaluated the treatment effect as"very satisfi ed"or"satisfi ed".Conclusion CO2 laser technology is effective and safe for atrophic acne scars, and it is worthy of clinical application.
