Biomass gasification-power generation polygeneration technology is a novel method to produce biomass energy. The efficient utilization of its by-product biochar is an important factor influencing the marketization of the technology. In this paper, the adsorption characteristics of wheat straw biochar toward amoxicillin in water were studied.Wheat straw biochar was prepared and characterized, and its adsorption kinetics and isotherm toward amoxicillin in water were studied. The effects of pH value and ion concentration on adsorption were investigated. The results showed that the higher the pyrolysis temperature, the larger the specific surface area of biochar.Under the same condition, the biochar produced at low pyrolysis temperature has the most adsorption capacity of 55.25 mg/g.The adsorption kinetics fit with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The adsorption capacity of amoxicillin could be increased by increasing the temperature within a certain range. The optimal adsorption pH value is 7.The increase of Na+concentration of metal ions will lead to the decrease of adsorption capacity.
