Recommendation:“MMA”is the abbreviation of mastitis, metritis and agalactia. As we know, the combined disorder known as MMA syndrome is comprised of three separate but often associated conditions. It is caused by many reasons, the amount of postpartum milk in sows is gradually reduced or even completely milkless,so that the intake of milk in suckling piglets is insufficient, which seriously affects the growth of piglets.MMA occurs frequently in pig farms, especially in the hot summer and autumn seasons.Once MMA occurs in sows,it will affect the survival rate of piglets and thus bring economic losses to pig farms. Many pig farms with sows are familiar with MMA.Studies have shown that 50%of deaths of piglets in scale pig farms are associated with MMA.So,what causes MMA?What's the status quo of it?Once that happens, what to do and how to do it to make the sows live better? How to prevent it?This article shed new light on the sows with MMA syndrome written by John Gadd,a swine columnist in England who is quite prolific(nearly 3000 articles or research papers have been published),combined with his own valuable experience around the world over the past few decades.
