摘　　要："The Story of an Hour", Kate Chopin's representative work, is a classic story in American Literature in the 19th century. In this story, Chopin depicts a woman who eventually unshackle herself from mental suppression and realizes her freedom. This arti-cle reaches the conclusion that the protagonist is indeed repressed by the stereotype that imposed by the society.
