Polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS)is a common, heterogeneous and complex endocrine disease.Insulin resistance and hyperandrogenemia are the two core pathological foundations of the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome, but the exact mechanism is not yet clear. In recent years,a large amount of research evidence shows that there is low-grade inflammation in patients with PCOS,and the high-androgen that can be induced by the low-grade inflammatory state in the body leads to metabolic abnormalities, increases the induction of insulin resistance and worsens PCOS.Traditional Chinese medicine believes that phlegm and blood stasis are the basic pathological features of low-grade inflammation, and the intervention of Chinese medicine helps to improve the low-grade inflammatory state of PCOS.This article will review the inflammatory mechanism of PCOS and the impact of traditional Chinese medicine intervention on it,with a view to expanding new ideas for the research of the mechanism of PCOS and providing basic theoretical basis for the intervention treatment of traditional Chinese medicine.
