《鸡舍中的唐人》中美国华裔男性形象重构方式探析

摘　　要：著名华裔剧作家赵健秀的《鸡笼中的唐人》是一部重构华裔男性形象的剧作。它讲述华裔制片人谭伦寻找据信是前轻重量级黑人拳王阿华田·杰克·丹瑟的父亲查理·爆米花的经过,展现了华裔族群真实的生活场景。戏剧通过呈现谭伦与爆米花的交锋,塑造了敢怒敢为的华裔男性形象;同时,戏剧通过展示谭伦与其他人物的交流过程,塑造出正直、友善、负责的华裔男性形象,从而颠覆了主流社会对华裔男性的歪曲看法,重塑了全新的华裔男性形象。The Chickencoop Chinaman created by the famous Chinese American playwright Frank Chin is viewed as a play to reconstruct Chinese American male image.It revolves round the course in which Chinese American filmmaker Tam Lum searches for Charley Popcorn who he believes is father of an ex-champion of the light heavyweights called Ovaltine Jack Dancer to make a documentary film and presents vivid pictures of Chinese American life.The play creates an image of Chinese American man who dares to be angry and aggressive through the confrontation between Tam Lum and Charley Popcorn.At the same time the play exhibits an honest,friendly and responsible Chinese American male image by showing the interaction between Tam Lum and other characters.Thus,the play subverts the distorted view in the mainstream and reconstructs a new Chinese American male image.
