Objective The aim of this study is to explore changes of serum bone transformation marker levels in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods A total of 65 newly diagnosed PCOS patients and 59 age-matched healthy women were collected in Hebei General Hospital from 2016 to 2017.The levels of serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D(25OHD),osteocalcin(OC),bone turnover markers(P1NP,β-CTX),biological parathyroid hormone(PTH1-84)and related sex hormone were measured in all subjects. Then statistical software was used to analyze the data. Results The serum levels of P1NP and OC in the PCOS group were significantly lower than those in the normal control group(P<0.05),whereas no significant differences were found inβ-CTX and 25OHD levels between the two groups. Conclusion The levels of serum bone formation markers in patients with PCOS are significantly decreased compared with the healthy control group, suggesting that the bone formation is decreased in PCOS patients.
