《土门》英译本中的翻译转换方式研究

摘　　要：采用卡特福德的翻译转换理论,研究剖析贾平凹经典小说《土门》英译本中的翻译转换现象。对比英汉语言形式差异,依据《土门》原文词汇、短语、语态时态、句子结构等,选用层次转换和范畴转换中的结构转换、类别转换、单位转换、系统内部转换实现中英文本的转换。这表明翻译转换理论在汉英翻译中具有可操作性,译者可通过选择翻译转换方式消解英汉两种语言在词汇、语法和表达习惯上的差异,更加地道的表达出原文思想,帮助外国读者更好地理解中国文学作品,推动中国文学在世界范围的传播。Based on Catford’s translation shift theory,this paper analyzes the translation shifts in the English version of The Earthen Gate,one of Jia Pingwa’s masterpiece novels.By comparing the differences between English and Chinese language forms,the vocabulary,phrase,voice,tense,sentence structure and other components of the original version are taken as samples to analyze the level shift,and the category shift including structure shift,class shift,unit shift,and intra-system shift in its English translation.The analysis suggests that translation shift is feasible in Chinese-English translation,and helpful for translators to overcome differences in vocabulary,grammar,and fixed expression between English and Chinese in conveying the original ideas more authentically and naturally,which will help foreign readers better understand the Chinese literature,and promote its the worldwide spread.
