摘　　要：新时代我国高等学校英语专业正处于逐步从以规模扩张为特征的外延式发展转向以质量提升为核心的内涵式发展的转型时期。互联网技术的日新月异、“新文科”发展理念的提出和课堂革命的实施分别对英语专业教育、英语专业教师以及课程管理和评价提出了新挑战。新时代英语专业的持续健康发展一要靠创新推动,二要靠特色发展,两者紧密结合才能促进英语专业的高质量和内涵式发展。为此,英语专业要回归本科教育,强化质量意识,全面推进专业内涵式发展;实施“课程思政”的教育理念,坚持立德树人的根本任务,全面构建育人新格局;实施教师培训计划,提升教师教学能力,全面加强专业师资队伍的建设;依托学校学科优势,凸显专业特色,全面推进专业的高质量发展。In the new era,English major in higher education is gradually shifting from extensive development characterized by scale expansion to connotative development featured by quality improvement.The advancement of Internet technology,the development concept of the“new liberal arts”and the implementation of class revolution have posed new challenges to English major education,major faculty,course management and assessment respectively.The sustainable and healthy development of English major in the new era largely rests on innovation and characteristic development.Hence,English major should emphasize undergraduate education,raising the awareness of high quality and promoting the connotative development of the major;stick to the educational concept of ideological and political education in the courses of English major,adhering to the fundamental mission of strengthening morality education through cultivating talents;carry out the project of faculty training,enhancing their teaching capacity;and highlight major features based on the discipline advantages of the university,thus advancing the high-quality development of English major.
