摘　　要：本文以20世纪中叶南加州地区的木构住宅为样本,通过讨论美国木构体系在现代转型过程中的趋势与特征,调查并分析这一演变背后的观念基础,试图解释建造技术与学科知识的关系,以及选择背后深层的社会动力。Taking Mid-Century Timber Housing in Southern California area as typical case studies, this paper traces the main trends and characteristic involved in the modern transition of American Timber Construction, and examines and analysis the idea basis shaping the series of evolutionary phenomenon. Then it attempts to argue that the relations between construction technology and discipline knowledge, as well as its social process, had determined the historic selection.
