摘　　要：表面上看,美国大学校长的遴选并非全然是一个深思熟虑的理性选择过程,但细究起来,事实并非完全如此.美国大学校长的遴选是一个相互讨价还价的博弈过程,背后大量充斥着个人意志、情感偏好,以及组织内不同身份群体的利益博弈、政治妥协等非理性因素.比之大学校长个人的作用,大学的规章制度与文化环境、获取的资源以及市场竞争压力,对于一所大学的发展更具决定性作用.The selection process of American university presidents is not a deliberate rational selection process,but a political process of bargaining with each other,which is largely filled with individual will,emotional preferences,interest game of different identity groups within the organization,policy compromise and other irrational factors.Compared with function of the president,the rules and regulations of university and the cultural environment,access to resources and market competition pressure play a more decisive role in the development of a university.
