话语标记语and的元语用功能分析

摘　　要：话语标记语and在日常口语交际中的使用频率最高,它不仅具有逻辑连接功能,而且还是说话者有意识的话语选择,反映了说话者不同程度的元语用意识,可以实现不同的元语用功能。本文借助Verschueren的元语用理论,以电影Hidden Figures中的自然口语交际为语料,分析话语标记语and在不同语境下的元语用功能。研究发现,话语标记语and在自然口语交际中具有构建语篇结构(如开启、延续、转换或邀请话轮)、标示说话者对命题的态度情感和意图(如表明主观评价或犹豫)、强调或突出命题内容(如提醒听话者注意命题内容)、调节人际关系(如缓和面子威胁,缩短人际距离)等元语用功能。Discourse marker AND is the most frequently used word in oral communication.It does not only function as logic connective,but also reflects the speakers consciousness of linguistic choices as well as their varying degrees of metapragmatic awareness,therefore realizing different metapragmatic functions.As an important way of constructing discourses,AND reflects speakers’varying degrees of metapragmatic awareness and realizes different metapragmatic functions.By using Verschueren’s metapragmatic awareness theory,this paper analyses the use of discourse marker AND in the movie Hidden Figures and attempts to explore the metapragmatic functions of it,aiming at improving the metapragmatic awareness and competence of English learners’in China.As a conclusion,we found that AND possesses the following 4 metapragmatic functions:1.constructing discourses;2.signaling one’s emotions and attitudes;3.emphasizing the proposition;4.adjusting interpersonal relationship.
