摘 要:新型冠状病毒在世界范围内引发了一场大流行的公共健康危机,媒体的新闻框架被认为是有意识地建构社会现实和塑造公众认知的行为,其在新闻生产和信息传播过程中扮演了重要角色。以往关于流行病的新闻框架研究主要通过内容分析法进行纵向比较研究,缺少对海量新闻文本数据的分析。本文作为一项探索性研究,采用LDA主题模型分析法对《纽约时报》和《卫报》的新冠肺炎疫情新闻报道进行横向比较。研究揭示了两者在媒体框架选择上的区别,勾勒出西方主流媒体的报道重点,有助于深入理解大众媒体的新闻框架是如何在大流行时期建构公众对流行病及其影响的认知。The outbreak of COVID-19 caused a pandemic public health crisis worldwide,and the media played an important role in news production and information dissemination.The news frame of the media is regarded as the behavior of consciously constructing social reality and shaping public cognition.Prior research on the news framework of epidemic mainly followed the longitudinal comparative study by conducting the content analysis.This research,as an exploratory study,performs a horizontal comparison of media frame between the New York Times and the Guardian,which are the representative of western media,on COVID-19 by using the LDA topic modeling analysis.The results revealed the differences of media frame choices,and that outline the foci of western media.This study contributes to understand how the media frame of the mass media constructs public awareness of the epidemic and its impact during the pandemic.
